In Jharkhand, JMM legislature party leader Hemant Soren has staked claim to form a new government. He met Governor Sayed Ahmed last evening, to do so. Mr Soren handed over a list of 43 MLAs, supporting him, to the Governor. MLAs from JMM, Congress, RJD and other smaller parties and Independents, are supporting him. JMM and Congress had, last week, announced their decision to form a new government in the state.
